The Martian by Andy Weir. | Michelle Younce | It is SO SO good. But, it has a ton of language in it. Through a series of unfortunate events, an astronaut gets stranded on Mars. because of the language I wouldn't recommend it to book group, but I would recommend it to anyone that is not offended by language.
The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown | Michelle Younce | It was fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone. I am a Seattlite so it probably touched me a little more because of that. Since we read Unbroken and The Storyteller I wouldn't put this on the book group list (at least not for a while) but it is amazing. It is the true story of the University of Washington crew team that won gold at the Berlin olympics. A lot about growing up with absolutely nothing in the depression era but coming out on top. And it talks about what was happening in Germany as Hitler and Germany evolved into what it became. But there is no language, no bad depiction's of Nazi violence, and it is just a great uplifting read. Note: I am glad I didn't grow up during the depression.
The Giver by Lois Lowry | Read because H read it and loved it. If you never read it growing up, you should!
All the light we can not see. | Heather Weir | It was wonderful.
